Charlotte Hazell-Caldwell
Feminist Writer • Researcher • Storyteller
I’m Charlotte Hazell-Caldwell.
My work explores women’s resilience and survivorship through research, writing, and education, drawing together threads of lived experience, story, and myth.
With over thirty years’ experience as a leader in the domestic abuse sector, I’ve trained thousands of professionals and mentored frontline practitioners to improve responses to women’s trauma and recovery. I am still fully engaged in the sector as Head of Training & Development for the National Centre for Domestic Violence.
Alongside, I write fiction that delves into the folkloric and mythic dimensions of women’s lives, including my short story collection, Night Witches.
With a first class Master’s degree in Domestic and Sexual Violence tucked into my sock, and qualifications in Counselling and Psychotherapy, Mindfulness and modalities focussed towards recovery and empowerment, I am currently conducting PhD research at Anglia Ruskin University, where my work explores women’s survivorship and employment.
Here you’ll find my writing, research, reflections and recovery materials, a space where lived experience, knowledge, and story come together.
